Recycling and long-term stability of thermoelectric and magnetocaloric systems (RecycleTEAM)
The aim of the RecycleTEAM project is to lay the foundations for the energy- and resource-saving recycling of tellurium-containing thermoelectric materials and systems and lanthanum-containing magnetocaloric compounds.
Recycling and long-term stability of thermoelectric and magnetocaloric systems (RecycleTEAM)
To this end, the project partners intend to discuss material flows and recycling options, conduct studies on component design suitable for recycling, and generate processes for energy-saving mechanical and chemical separation.
Furthermore, magnetocalorics as an alternative, innovative cooling technology is part of the investigations. The long-term stability of this technology, which is still under development, will be investigated using the currently most promising material system for magnetocaloric applications - lanthanum-iron-silicon - as an example.
